Protection and Privacy of Personal Information

Article 10, Italian Law no. 196/2003

The Personal Information Protection and Privacy Law. The Abano Terme General Hospital provides its users, in accordance  with the Personal Information Protection and Privacy Law no. 196/2003, the following information regarding the treatment of personal and sensitive information (data which inherently relates to the health of the interested party).

Aims of Use
The use of personal data and information (data regarding one's residence, health, etc.) is strictly utilized for health services and normal administrative procedures.

Mode of Use
The treatment of personal information is done electronically through the phases of collection, recording, organizing, storage, communication, and the cancellation and destruction of the data.

Transmission and Dissemination of Personal Data
Personal information can be disclosed, in accordance with current laws, to Local Health Units, the State Police, and upon special request to be used in court.  If the patient had entered into any type of agreements with insurance companies, disability funds, or company funds, it may be necessary to communicate information regarding the services provided by the hospital to such entities.  As always, the personal data will be communicated privately and securely as foreseen by the law.
Diagnostic records may be picked up by people other than patient if the patient leaves them a proper delegate form signed in a sealed envelope. 

Rights of the Interested Party
The patient concerned is entitled to the rights noted in the Italian law no. 196/2003.
