Orthopedics and Traumatology Ward

The Orthopedics and Traumatology Ward is located on the first floor (elevator 4 and stairwell C). All of the trauma patients coming from the Emergency Room are treated in a timely manner in the ward regardless if they are inpatient or outpatient type interventions. In recent years, the Functional Orthopedics Unit has consolidated its specific professional abilities in the following areas:

• hip surgery
• foot surgery
• shoulder surgery
• spine surgery

The operating rooms have two arthroscopic towers and two microscopes for spine microsurgery. The ward also has two computerized navigators that favor a minimally invasive approach. Our patients are planned a personalized rehabilitation which combines treatment protocols shared by the hospital’s physiatrists and orthopedics. These plans are designed for the rapid recovery of  the patients' autonomy in everyday activities.

The ward, which has been recently renovated, is equipped with 30 inpatient beds for ordinary hospital stays. Here, patients are admitted who are going under orthopedic or traumatology surgery. Patients who are paying privately are admitted to the rooms on the third floor.

Beds for Day Surgery are shared with other units of the surgical grouping- the number of beds are planned according to surgical activity.

Plaster, located on the intermediate floor near the Emergency Department, is open every morning, Monday to Saturday, from 8.00 am to 2.00 pm.
