Anaesthesia and Resuscitation
The Anaesthesia and Resuscitation Ward at the Abano Terme General Hospital is situated on the mezzanine floor. It has five rooms, four of which have two beds and one room which is used for isolating patients in case of infectious or contagious diseases. Each bed has a wall unit in which there are systems for monitoring the patient's progress and for artificial ventilation.
Another three rooms (always with two beds each) are equipped with machines for monitoring cardiac patients, immediate post-operative patients, and all other patients who need monitoring for brief periods of time without the necessity of a breathing machine.
The ward ensures the patient a safe perioperative period customizing everything to the individual needs of each patient. One of the strong points of the hospital is the ability to provide the carrying out of pre-operative tests and anaesthesia visits itself with only one visit to the hospital.
Patients admitted for routine surgeries are followed in the individual wards. In cases of complex or major surgery, patients are kept under control for 24-48 hours in post-operative intensive therapy care.
The operating rooms are highly advanced both in terms of surgical and anaesthesiological equipment being on the cutting edge of technology. The instruments used in anaesthesiology are both for general anaesthesia and local/ regional anaesthesia.
